The 7th Joint Symposium on Mechanical and Materials Engineering between Northeastern University and Tottori University (JSMME’2018), will be held at Northeastern University from 22 to 25 September, 2018.Northeastern University and Tottori University, which are key universities of respective countries, have established sister university relationship since 2001. The JSMME’2018, which is the 7th joint symposium between two universities, will provide a scholarly communication opportunity for the academic staffs as well as graduate students from two universities. The purpose of JSMME’2018 is to provide a focused forum for presentations on advanced research and improved understanding in materials and mechanical engineering, and to corroborate the academic exchange between two universities.
During the symposium, best presentation and post awards will be selected by the executive committee for student participants.
The official language of the conference is English, and contributions are encouraged in the following areas of interest:

[Preparation of Abstract]
One page abstract prepared in an appropriate format is expected for the JSMME’2018. The program committee will use the abstracts as the basis for the technical program. An effective abstract should include the following key elements: a descriptive title, the motivation and methodology of the work, a synopsis of the salient new findings, and a concise explanation relating to the results and solid conclusions. Abstract must be typed within a frame of 230 mm ×160 mm in A4 paper. The left margin should be 30 mm wide. The title must be in capital letters, followed by the authors’ names and affiliation. Use a font size no smaller than 10.5 pt.

[Presentation style]
For oral presentations, 20 minutes will be allotted for each paper. LCD projector, a screen and a pointer are equipped in each room. Poster presentations are also planned.[Official languages]
